This arm of ZB was established in 2001/2002.
When we met at sixth form college in ‘95 we worked on a film idea called
‘They Came For A Day’. Four years later we embarked on Filmstock together and
also set about making films after that.
After several years working on other projects, we have returned to what
we love best and between Oct 2005 –Feb 2006 produced three new short films -

Clandestine (2006) 13 mins
It is said that the soul leaves the body through the back of the neck,
naturally, in death. And that it cannot leave, or be taken, until this time.
Clandestine is both a contemporary mystery and a homage to French crime
thrillers of the 1960's, set to the haunting sounds of 'Sigur Ros' and the cool
beats of 'Do Make Say Think'.

As It Stands Now (2006)
4mins
Shot in a day, edited in a
day. As It Stands Now is an experimental tale of love and longing, but is
anyone who they first seem?
Originally intended as an
informal film challenge between a group of friends and a trial run for
Clandestine this became a film in its own right just as we started shooting.

The Inspiration

Rustic Road
Movie (2002)

road movie account on 8mm of Justin's travels from Vancouver to LA. Elegiac and
Crazed in equal measure.
Cocoa (2002)
Comedy, 4 minutes
A tribute to 70's Blaxploitation. This film trailer is based
on a featurette script by Neil that may or may not see the full light of day.
Cocoa has girls, guns, threads, a killer soundtrack and the best Afro this side
of 1975.
They Came For A Day (2002)
Comedy/Spoof, 19 minutes
An alien invasion in small town America, a beautiful damsel
in distress and a square jawed all American Hero, what more could you ask for?
They Came For A Day is both an authentic 50's B-Movie and homage to some of our
childhood memories.

In Loving Memory (2002)

to protest the closure of the Vauxhall plant in the town, a major employer and
part of the fabric of the town.
Wannabe (2002)
Comedy, 3 minutes
An entry video for the TV show Big Brother that takes the
image and ideas behind the show, and probes a little deeper. Also a chance to
throw in some of our favourite cultural references.
Smoke Yourself Thin (2002)
Comedy, 3 minutes
Executive Producers on a 16mm short that was the first FILMSTOCK film. An experiment as part of
FILMSTOCK 2002 where a film was shot on the first weekend of the festival,
edited during the week and premiered over the middle weekend. The film was the
third in a *Simpson's* themed trilogy by filmmaker Lee Chambers.
La Berane (2002)
